Joshua Manchester, DDS, MSD
Dr. Manchester grew up in Great Falls, Montana. He attended Montana State University and graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. degree in microbiology. He then came to Seattle and graduated as one of the top students in his class with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Washington School of Dentistry. He completed a one-year general practice residency at the University of Minnesota, before returning to the University of Washington for his graduate studies. After completing his residency in prosthodontics, Dr. Manchester received his Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) degree from the Graduate Prosthodontic Program at the UW School of Dentistry. He was the recipient of the David H. Wands Endowment Fellowship in Graduate Prosthodontics during his program, a true honor.
Dr. Manchester and his wife, Liza, who is also a dentist, and their two children, were drawn to the Tacoma area because of the small-town feel of the city and access to outdoor recreational opportunities. They cherish their family time and enjoy going on hikes, watching movies, trying new restaurants and spending time with friends.
Ajey Varma, DDS
Dr. Varma grew up in Powell River, British Columbia. He completed a Bachelor of Science degree in cell biology at the University of British Columbia before attending the Marquette University School of Dentistry. Dr. Varma graduated from Marquette in 1990 and began the practice of general dentistry in Yellowknife, Canada. Realizing that he wanted to provide his patients with the highest standards of comprehensive dentistry, Dr. Varma left general practice and began a two-year residency in prosthodontics at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Prosthodontics is the specialty of dentistry which deals with complex reconstructive and cosmetic treatments. Upon completion of his residency in 1993, Dr. Varma maintained private practices limited to prosthodontics in Wisconsin and Ohio. He was also an associate professor at the Ohio State University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Varma returned to the Pacific Northwest in 1997 and has maintained a private practice limited to prosthodontics in Tacoma, Washington, ever since. He and his staff pride themselves on maintaining the highest standards of patient care and professional ethics. Dr. Varma continues to strive to be a leading area specialist by providing state of the art dentistry in a contemporary office environment. He has a tireless commitment to dental excellence and patient satisfaction and is an educational mentor to many general dentists. Dr. Varma provides his patients with the highest standard of dental treatment in a comfortable and ethical environment.
Jekita Kaenploy, DDS, MS
Dr. Kaenploy earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree magna cum laude from Chulalongkorn University in Thailand in 2016, followed by a Diploma in Clinical Sciences of Prosthodontics in 2018. She continued her advanced training at the State University of New York at Buffalo, where she completed a Certificate in Advanced Prosthodontics and a master’s degree in Biomaterials in 2023. During her studies, she received multiple awards and research grants, including the William M. Feagans Scholarship. Her master’s thesis was recognized by the American College of Prosthodontists, earning her second place in the prestigious John J. Sharry Research Competition. That same year, Dr. Kaenploy joined the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry as a Clinical Assistant Professor, where she teaches dental students, mentors residents, and maintains a clinical practice.
Dr. Kaenploy has collaborated closely with periodontists and oral surgeons and worked with the OMFS department to perform the first “jaw in a day” reconstruction in the state of Oklahoma. She has published and co-authored research in leading peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Prosthodontics and the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, and serves as a reviewer for several scientific journals. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists and a former Vice President of American College of Prosthodontists Oklahoma Section.
